It all started when we ran Bluetooth packet traffic through a drum machine, which frankly beat our expectations. Three years of quirky iterations later, the GeneraBLE open source project is what you might expect when a veteran of “friendly big brother” startups and an influential sound artist have a love child in the form of calm technology.

Using Raspberry Pi 3 and headphones, participants can walk through the room with their wearable device, guided by the chatter of our connected devices. They will reflect on the implications of growing cyborg radio-surveillance, including the potential for activism and education through art. Listen, it’s not all bad!
